This is not just another technology course — AI Essentials is a dynamic, hands-on
programme designed specifically for TY students, giving them the foundational AI skills they genuinely need for Senior Cycle, further study, and the workplaces of tomorrow.

We know that Artificial Intelligence is no longer a futuristic idea — it’s part of our everyday lives. This module prepares students by introducing them to key AI concepts, real-world tools they can use for learning and creativity, and ethical practices around responsible AI use. They’ll learn how to harness AI to enhance their coursework, rather than fear it or misuse it.

One of the brilliant features of this programme is that it is designed so teachers can learn alongside their students. You don’t need to be an AI expert before you start — the lessons are interactive, practical, and full of real-life examples that make it easy and enjoyable for everyone involved. This course is also fully aligned with the new TY programme statement, supporting
innovation, future-ready skills, and meaningful student engagement. It includes 10 interactive lessons, a student-friendly learner workbook, built-in reflection tasks, and a student-led sustainability project that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and self-direction.
